I seriously do not see how Bleed received any positive reception; this game is borderline unplayable. I went into this game because I like 2D run and gun shooters, and the game had a female protagonist, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, this game is killed by its horrendous control scheme. This is going t be a short and brief review because there is not much detail I can go into when the game was killed by one fatal flaw.
Lamia’s Game Room was a game released silently within the depth of the now defunct Steam Greenlight. The only way most people would have played it would have been through one of Indiegala’s bundles, which was how I got it. Looking at the game’s Steam page, one will notice that the overall review rating for this game is “mixed” which is a bad sign right away. Another bad sign is the fact that the game is priced at $1.00, which usually means that the game is so short or simplistic that it should be free, but the developers still want to make some money.
It has been well established that Steam Greenlight was a disaster. Due to an absence of quality control aside from a fee, it allowed the service to become flooded with dozens of poorly made and amateurish titles ranging from buggy Minecraft clones, dull and substance-less walking simulators, Twine novels, horribly drawn and translated visual novels, and dozens of “retro throwbacks” that look like Atari 2600 titles and bare more similarities to the Shovelware published by LJN than any of the classics. There were even periods where games made to encourage violence towards gay and transgender people and games with literal snuff footage made it onto the service, and the latter is STILL UP!
I decided I am going to start posting the links to my Brash Games and Oprainfall reviews. However, I want to give each review its own post because it would be more organized, and I am unsure if linking directly to them on my Curator Page would violate some kind of copyright.
Anyway yeah, this was the first of seven reviews put on that site. I actually bought this game on my own and have not received a review code, so this was just up there cause I thought it would be seen by more people that way. Dunno if it was but whatever.

I must admit that I have a fair bit of interest in the indie visual novel scene. I often have a difficult time getting into the larger visual novels made by more professional teams for a variety of reasons. These reasons are oftentimes due to their length and the fact that they tend to be paced very slowly. Indie visual novels, on the other hand, are usually about the same length of a movie so they are easier to digest, and are more likely to get straight to the point.
Also there is the fact that you are more likely to see raw creator expression that is not hampered by corporate interests, although the same could be said of most indie products. Unfortunately, Sturgeon’s law greatly applies to a lot of these visual novels. For every brilliant gem like My Name Is Addiction, you have about twelve mediocre, poorly written and drawn visual novels that are just not interesting.
