Standard Review: Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit (PS3/360/PC)

Hell Yeah! Warth of the Dead Rabbit | Box Art

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is a game that could be seen as somewhat of a modern twist on the whole “anthropomorphic animal with attitude” archetype that pervaded the 90s. Of course it is fitting that this was made by Sega, the same company that gave us Sonic the Hedgehog, the quintessential animal with attitude in video games. So the question is, does Hell Yeah manage to recreate what made the original Sonic memorable? The answer to that is that it kind of does, but it kind of doesn’t.

In terms of its presentation, Hell Yeah! excels. The art style is very flashy, the game has some hilarious dialogue, the music kicks ass, and pretty much everything about this game gives off the idea that this is going to be a fun game. The game’s storyline is about the prince of hell, a skeletal Rabbit named Ash, who is trying to hunt down the 100 monsters that saw a photo he mistakenly put up on his blog of him cuddling a stuffed animal. US 2018 Midterm Rundown: How Does Our Congress Stand on LGBT & Minority Rights? #PinkTsunami

US Flag Trans Colors

I talked before about how the “Blue Wave” on its own will not be enough for us. The results went fairly well with Democrats getting control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 2010. Unfortunately the Democrats did not gain nearly as many seats as the Republicans gained in 2010 but that is likely because more Democratic senate seats were up for election.

My plan here is to do a run down of all the elections of each state from a civil rights perspective. It may take some time because I am looking up most of these people for the first time. If anyone lives in any of these states and has anything to add in regards to their current representatives I would greatly appreciate the additional insight. This is largely meant to observe patterns so I may not touch on everything that’s important.

Before I begin I would like address a few things in advance that I know will be brought up if this piece gets any significant viewership. The first is that yes, there is a strong left wing bias in this piece. I have tried my best to be impartial by sticking strictly to civil rights issues but when one looks at the basic facts, the Republican party is far more often to blame for a lot of the most heinous shit when it comes to bigotry and cruelty. While the left has its fair share of shitheads, and I have done my best to call them all out and draw attention to them as well, It’s only naturally that my interests will be more closely aligned with the left when there is not only less bigoted shitheads, but also that the bigoted shitheads are less bigoted and less shit headed.

If you are a moderate Republican who is in favor of equal rights for LGBT people, women, and people of color then I would highly recommend reading through this entire 27,000+ word piece. I have heard more than one moderate claim that both parties are just as bad, but while I have plenty of criticisms towards the American left as of late, I just find that the right is just so much more hateful and ignorant than the left is. Even if the left only cares about lining their own pockets it does not change the fact that is it only logical to do what will help give us our rights. If you read this piece all the way through then you will likely have a much greater understanding of why LGBT activists hold so much more disdain towards the right.

Even if one does believe that one can merely “disagree” with LGBT rights (which as a heads up, you can’t expect to advocate for LGBT people being deprived of the same basic rights as everyone else and expect them to be okay with it), you will see that a large number of people who are still serving in the united states congress have some outright cruel and hateful views towards LGBT people that a lot of you may have thought died out.

I also ask that you show this piece to anyone who states that the Republican party isn’t homophobic. Hell even if you are a passionate leftist and LGBT rights supporter I think it would behoove you to read this entire piece because it allows you to see the scope of this anti LGBT prejudice, as well as a fair bit of stuff relating to women’s rights and rights for people of color. If you just want to know whose been a piece of shit in your state, I recommend you just skip to the section on your specific state than read the “conclusion” section. The states are covered in alphabetical order.

Lastly I recommend that you read this, and then remember to get out and vote these pricks out of office. This type of abhorrent ignorance and bigotry should have never been tolerated, and it’s up to us all to right this age old wrong that we as a society have allowed. Starting with…

Seanbaby’s Worst NES Games Countdown is Garbage. Here’s Why.

Seanbaby | Top 20 worst NES games

Seanbaby is fairly well known in online gaming communities. I believe it is accurate to say that his style of writing was what later influenced that of many game reviewers, including that of AVGN. The subject of this article is one of his most well known works, and one that likely influenced a lot of later video game critique, or possibly media critique in general. I am deciding to make a piece about this article precisely because this piece has largely gone unchallenged over the years and everyone assumes video game critique has gotten bad only recently.

The key issue behind Seanbaby’s countdown is the lack of research or substance involved in its creation. It’s all just an excuse to hear Sean’s stand up routine while using these games as a base. While I do find the quality of the humor debatable, I wouldn’t take issue with it if game reviewers were not under the impression that this was the ONLY way to review games. I have nothing personal against Sean or anything; this article is merely a work of criticism towards not just this piece, but how a lot of people review games in general. It is of course expected that Sean would be better at it as a professional than some random forum troll that thinks he’s smarter than everyone else because he thinks games made by Nintendo are shit, but that’s not setting the bar very high. The Absurdity of the “Trans Narcissism” Narrative

Trigger Warning: Transphobia, and lots of it. Also ableism and violence.

Did you know that being a trans person and caring about how you are treated by cis people is inherently selfish? Did you know that when some douchebag calls trans women “mentally ill men with mutilated dicks” that WE are the ones that are selfish for calling them assholes? Did you know that having hatred and contempt for women who literally think our existence is misogynistic and that claim we are a danger to women by nature of said existence means we are abusers who only care about ourselves and fetishize womanhood?

What’s that? That sounds morally disgusting and abusive? Congratulations; you’re a decent human being! Those that take issue with this last paragraph will likely have one of two responses. The first are those that unironically believe everything I just said because they are biological essentialist sociopaths and will then claim it is “proof” of my narcissism. In this case, such a thing is obviously projection due to a refusal to accept a major human rights movement because one would rather believe their own innate prejudiced instincts than have a shred of human decency.

The second and likely larger group are those that think this paragraph is an exaggerated strawman and that they don’t actually think that way. While there are certainly some that don’t even have anything against trans acceptance or inclusion that simply think that most trans activists would consider them transpbobes anyway, I would know since I have met some of them, there is still a sizable amount who will say that the above is a strawman… yet who still believe some variation on the above. AnnieGal Unscripted #6 Chelsea Manning Suicidiality and the Blue Wave

This video is meant to touch upon Chelsea Manning’s recent suicidal ideation and the concept of the “blue wave” that she brought up. The short version is that she’s okay now, anyone who cheered on her suicide, used it to get on their transphobic soap box, or claims that she’s doing so for attention or votes is a disgusting human being, and that it IS possible to spark a revolution but we need to be actively working towards it and act on the opportunities we are given.

AnnieGal Unscripted #5 “Waifu Holocaust” Steam Controversy

A new video of mine about Steam being dumb and banning lewd anime games.

The TLDW version is that gamers trivialize the issue by calling it the “waifu holocaust,” and downplay the sexist, homophobic, and xenophobic implications present.

Political Rant: Trans People (and all minorities) Are Not Responsible for their Mistreatment!

neutral in situations of injustice

CW: Transphobia, homophobia

Last month I wrote an essay about the ideological conflicts between Radical Feminism and the trans movement. While it was mostly well received, there were a few trans people who expressed concern that I was blaming trans people for their own mistreatment. I was initially dismissive and hostile towards these criticisms because I felt as though they were actively looking for signs of disloyalty and picking it apart despite it clearly not being my intention. I had seen how quick trans people are to turn on their supporters and I often felt as though I would be eviscerated for not holding the exact same viewpoints.

I believed there was something wrong with the trans community in their hostility towards opposition, and for all I know there might be. To be honest I’m not entirely sure since I’m only one woman, but I do accept the possibility that there are people who are trans and are also narcissistic, misogynist, violent, abusive, or unstable. These are all human qualities though. You will find these types of people in every sex, gender, race, sexual orientation, ideology, religion, or social class that has ever existed. If you ever judge the entirety of these groups by their worst members yet do not hold your own group to the same standards, you’re a gigantic hypocrite! Read more

Anime Rant: In Defense of Oreimo’s Ending (And Oreimo as a Whole)

Oreimo Icon

Note:  This is a repost of a piece that I posted as a DeviantART journal entry on July 12th of 2014, with a few edits made. Yeah, it’s one of my earliest pieces.

TW: Mention of incest.

MAJOR SPOILERS for Oreimo if that wasn’t obvious enough.

Recently I have finished watching the anime series Oreimo, AKA Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai, or “My little Sister Can’t Be This Cute.” I personally found the series to be very surprising in terms of just how much it effected me, and I may even say it s the best anime series I have seen so far (granted I have not seen very much as the only anime I have seen in recent years were Gintama and Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation, the rest of the anime I saw was from when I was younger and what I saw on Toonami and other various programs so take that as you will). I will warn anyone who has not seen this series all the way, there will be major spoilers ahead seeing s how this involves an explanation of the ending in detail.

Blaire White: An Intervention

Blaire White | Ok sign

I wrote an article about Blaire White on this blog once before. I have a rule established that I only write response articles to people who have at least a shred of human decency in them, and when I wrote that, I was under the naive impression that Blaire might be one of those. Considering that I had already gone from being a hater to being a fan, it would take a lot to make me renounce any bit of respect I had for her. At that point, I had already pledged three superchat donations to her. Hell I really wanted to debate her myself to the point that I tried whatever I could to get her attention, none of which succeeded. One of those donations was specifically to ask her to debate me on a live stream, she said she was okay with it but couldn’t find me because I didn’t give her my Twitter handle (even though she followed me on Twitter at the time and could have just searched the handle). So I made another pledge just to provide the handle, but she skips over this one during the stream when she otherwise goes out of her way to read ALL of them.

Response to Zinnia Jones: Zinnia Understands Science and Facts (But Doesn’t Understand People)

Zinnia Jones

For those of you that have followed my political writings, you are likely familiar with Zinnia Jones, as I have previously written an entire article in defense of a few controversial tweets of her’s, and I have mentioned her in an article made in response to her arch nemesis, Blaire White. I have mentioned her in part of my own personal grievances with Blaire, but if one paid attention, I also foreshadowed this article back there as well.

…it feels like I’m the only one who just doesn’t expect everyone to be perfect. I’m not even referring to just Blaire here, but I am also speaking with Zinnia in mind with whom my feelings are similar but for different reasons. I have thought of making a similar piece about her, but I’m unsure how to approach it.

Well, I have figured that out now. If one could not have guessed, my article about Blaire was not just a rebuttal, it was Read more
