Nukige Septic Tank: Slave Witch April (PC) (NSFW)

CW: Rape, pedophilia, bestiality misogyny, torture, sexual slavery. Yep, it’s one of those games! Lewd images are censored for the purpose of this review, and are not censored in-game.

I’m having trouble thinking of a way to lead into this review like I normally do, so I’m just going to get straight to the point. Slave Witch April is an utterly repugnant pile of garbage that makes my skin crawl. Since I completed it, I’ve been pondering whether or not I consider it the worst eroge I’ve ever played. I have come to the conclusion that it’s not only the worst eroge I’ve ever played, but that it’s also the worst game I’ve ever played. About a month ago, I reviewed Games&Girls, a train wreck of an ecchi title that devolved into pandering to literal Nazis in a pathetic plea for attention, only to not have the testicular fortitude to even admit it when I confronted the developers about it. Yet Slave Witch April practically has me yearning for the works of Yume Creations.

WTF is Nukige Septic Tank?

I need to emphasize that I don’t normally start reviews this way. Most people who read my stuff would know that I try to give credit where its due, and that I write these reviews to offer constructive feedback so that future creators can improve. This game, however, I really don’t know. I have a feeling that this title is far from the worst that the nukige genre has to offer, but that’s only because so much nukige is made for and BY people who would sooner deep throat a ghost pepper than even consider making a woman cum.

It often feels weird reviewing bad hentai games, because it’s clear that these games are targeted towards those with the most shallow taste imaginable. And yes, lowest common denominator pandering isn’t exactly a new idea, but the problem is the “lowest common denominator” in the case of the nukige market, consists of half the fucking consumer base!

The game allows you to choose which scenes to access in which order, which can lead to branching paths The problem is that A: you are given no information about the scenes other than the thumbnail, and B: you get locked out of certain scenes based on what and when you pick.

It kinda goes without saying that a lot of my views are not exactly widespread, hell I think that my eroge content is so successful because it occupies an untapped niche and expresses uncommon viewpoints, but at what point am I just waltzing into enemy territory and expecting not to get shot at? There is more than enough out there that I’m not going to purchase “I Can’t Believe My Not Blood Related Little Sister Came inside my Boypussy at Our Family Reunion” expecting something amazing… although now that I think of it, that hypothetical bad hentai game I made up actually sounds kinda hot… but what do I make of the leftover games from those Indiegala Bundles I bought years ago?

I recently decided that I’d give these games the benefit of the doubt and see what they have to offer, even if I’m not expecting much of them. I mean, I DID enjoy Ruby Striker, and I got that from one of those bundles as well, so it’s not as if there is no chance of me enjoying them, but it’s only inevitable that I’m going to be repeating myself when it comes to the negative reviews. Hence the introduction of the new title scheme.

Slave Witch April is Unsexy.

I have previously played a little less than an hour into Slave Witch April and thought it would be bad enough to serve as an introduction, but not bad enough to make me regret all my life choices. Unfortunately, this game got worse and worse to the point that I genuinely thought to myself “why am I doing this?” And even now, I wonder why I bothered to play this, or why I’m willing to risk my further sanity on other terrible nukige? Do I just hate myself that much? I might have a genuine problem folks.

It’s one thing to have cringey hentai writing, but it’s another to be so inept at writing about sex that you sound like a fucking incel.

And no, Slave Witch April is not as scarring and sickening as the figurative and literal shitfest that was Starless: Nymphomanic’s Paradise, but it really fucking wanted to be. In fact, reading through Slave Witch April actually gave me a better appreciation for Starless, and I did not think I’d ever utter those words. Starless gave me a lot more to hate than just shock content, it also gave me uninteresting characters, a maddeningly dull story, repetitive music, and bafflingly immature writing. But the shock content was the only thing that Starless did worse than Slave Witch April. In fact, the only reason Starless was able to genuinely shock and disturb anyone is because it at least had enough grasp of writing to get the player to connect to its setting. I can at least partially understand someone liking Starless for a reason other than the sex scenes.

Slave Witch April does not have anything to rely on other than its sex scenes, and its sex scenes are awful. The only positive I can give to the game’s eroticism factor is that the illustrations are decent. Unfortunately there is not a lot of animation so you’ll just be looking at still images most of the time, which is standard nukige fare. This means that its up to the writing and description to carry the sex scenes, and it does not even come close to doing that. The majority of the sex scene dialogue consists of either the usual transcribed sound effects and onomatopoeia in place of genuine narration, or April melodramatically screaming out exactly how she’s being violated in a way no human being would ever actually utter.

The latter is a common trope in hentai manga that is used as a substitute for the lack of narration, and it is commonly used in visual novels despite… you know, common sense. Not only is this completely unnecessary in a medium that already uses narration and description, but it also makes every sex scene feel forced and awkward. Slave Witch April has a heavy emphasis on the corruption fetish, which is when a female character is repeatedly violated and slowly starts to realize that she enjoys being treated like a decadent slut. Yes, it’s un-feminist and not politically correct, but it’s also very fucking hot if it’s written by someone with actual talent, but that’s not the case with Slave Witch April.

It just so happens that when you have a character announce everything that is happening to her from the moment she starts getting violated, it removes any sense of character progression and growth. And contrary to popular belief, writing decent erotica does, in fact, require the author to have talent at writing an immersive story and characters, and there is an element of artistic subtlety involved. I would know, I’m an erotica writer myself. A lot of writers view erotica as the most difficult type of fiction to write for a reason, and that’s because it requires writers to set up a very specific mood and paint a vivid picture of a sex act that the reader can picture in their head.

…Is Denis’s cock made out of bacon or something? He should probably see a doctor about that.

The few moments where Slave Witch April DOES try to use its writing to paint a picture, it looks like Rei Ryghts made it. For example, whoever thought that the phrase “pork sword” was an acceptable euphemism for genitalia should be banned from being anywhere near a keyboard or within 100 miles of anyone who has ever thought about being in the same plane of existence as one. Instead of using its writing to actually invoke any sort of sexual arousal, Slave Witch April instead acts as an over glorified slide show of the admittedly decent artwork, and expects the reader to be aroused just because it throws a bunch of fetishes at them.

This is what I HATE about a large percentage of nukige and their consumer base, the misconception that one’s enjoyment is based on whether it has their fetish. Yes, Slave Witch April has a lot of fucked up scenes, and yes, if it was written by someone with genuine talent then I may have found all of them sexy as hell…. except the one where April is turned into a child and raped… or the one where Denis grows Aprils tits to an enormous size and fucks her nipples… or the one where Denis uses magic to re-form April’s hymen so he can take her virginity again and again… okay maybe those last three are so stupid no one can make them genuinely hot outside of the few people who think they are already hot no mater how little effort is put into them.

The fact that this scene is not making my panties wet is a fucking war crime!

And just to remind some people, my tastes are hardly vanilla. I actually thought most of the scenes in this game were fairly tame compared to some of the shit that I’ve seen, and I even enjoyed some stuff more fucked up than this. Slave Witch April however, had a few scenes that sound so appealing to my personal tastes in concept yet completely fell flat in this game. I mean, I have to give credit that having a woman get gangbanged by multiple different clones of herself, each being given a large penis, and then having the woman feel the same sensation that each of the clones are feeling as they engage in pseudo-lesbian debauchery is something I’d be all over, yet the person who wrote this garbage managed to fuck it up!

Slave Witch April is Disgustingly Misogynistic

And there is one other thing I can give the game credit for; there were some pretty creative ideas for sex scenes. A lot of them were stupid as hell, but some of them were interesting and did sort of make me think about wider background lore. Slave Witch April is set in a fantasy setting and stars some whiny prick named Denis who frees an evil fairy to take revenge on April, the bossy witch he’s serving under. They seal away April’s magic for a short time and conspire together to repeatedly rape her until she’s mind broken enough to not fight back even with her magic, which he does because he is a pathetic incel fuckweasel.

April is a total prick at the start of the game, but Denis’s actions only end up justifying April’s initial cruelty.

I should once again remind people that I was not expecting this game to be respectful to women by any means, but even by hentai standards this game is profoundly misogynistic. If you ever wanted to know what a hentai game written by Elliot Rodgers would look like, look no further than Slave Witch April. Denis just can’t go three lines without bitching about how much he hates women or parroting some moronic incel drivel. Denis’s entire plan is to rape and torture a woman who was mean to him and hurt his fragile, pathetic, ego, and said women just so happens to fit the shallow stereotype that all misogynists view women they don’t like as.

But it’s not even as simple as the main character being a smug piss stain who doesn’t wipe his ass (not stated in game but is pretty much common sense), it’s that the writer’s own misogyny pervades…

… wait a minute, let me check to make sure they haven’t written for anything I like or am interested in…

…nope, nothing, now where was I?

It’s that the writer’s own misogyny pervades every asset of this script, right down to the shitty writing.

One of the key reasons that angry man hating feminazis like myself harp on cis men for not being able to find a women’s clit or to know how to please them isn’t because we believes one’s ability to sexually satisfy someone is tied to their innate worth as a human being, but because women have been forced to prioritize men’s sexual desires for literal fucking millennia. This results in an endless amount of drooling fuckboys who expect women to satisfy their own perverted sexual needs but can’t be bothered to put in even the slightest effort to please their women.

As if Denis wasn’t detestable enough, he’s also a pedophile.

This mentality is front and center in Slave Witch April. So much of the plot is based around the absolutely disgusting idea that if you rape a woman enough times, she’ll eventually stop pretending she hates it and learn to love whatever depraved treatment they receive. Not even in a “she’s brainwashed into being a slut” kind of way more so the “all women secretly long to be made into sex slaves for pitiful little shit goblins like Denis” kind of way, which need I remind you is what many of these scumbags actually believe in real life.

As I said previously, I’d be able to look past this if the game was even the least bit sexy, but it fucking isn’t! If anything, what pisses me off the most about this game is how smug it as with saying that women are all secretly sluts who deserve to be made into sex slaves, when it can’t even turn me on. ME, the kind of depraved cunt who sees a game about raping a woman in increasingly sadistic ways and thinks “this could be pretty hot if only the person who wrote this has seen a woman’s clit before.”

And because I know that I’m going to get a bunch of apologists lecturing me about how this game is for men and not femoids, I’d just like to point out that two of the game’s three characters are women… and those two women are the only characters whose bodies are shown fully. Games like this are fully capable of appealing to women just as much as men, they just don’t because they are garbage and only appeal to people (mostly men) with garbage taste.

We get it, you stand with Vic.

Conclusion

In other words, I’m not going to bother covering my ass on this one. I already know Reddit is going to lose its shit over this. Do I have anything to really say about this? Not really, this game is just shit. It’s the worst game I’ve ever played, but it only will be until I end up reaching even further into the nukige septic tank. Anyway if you want to play this game for some reason, it’s $25.00 on MangaGamer’s store, but there’s so much better fap material you could go with instead. Yes, I know, this is such a cliche review ending phrase, so let me see if I can recommend something specific. I mean, there’s Ruby Striker… but that’s not on MangaGamer’s site anymore. Of course that makes no difference to you, but I kinda want to keep a good relationship with the publisher’s going.

No, they aren’t asking me to do anything aside from including the affiliate link whenever I cover their stuff, it’s just that this game has broke my mind to the point that I need to end this review as facetiously as possible. Anyway let me know how you like this particular style of review. I mean, I’m still going to use it whenever I review a shitty nukige because I will just be repeating myself otherwise. And also anything in the vein of “this developer is a sexist” is also facetious, as I wouldn’t really know since I never met the guy and probably never will.

Anyway, I think that wraps up this review. This month will have one more hentai game review, so I guess that makes it a theme month. Anyway take care and don’t play Slave Witch April!
