Poem #52: Starting Again

Note: This poem was originally posted on my Patreon account on August 30th of 2018. I am currently posting a new poem to my patreon account each day for patron exclusive reading and on this blog one week later for public viewing. If you’d like to see these poems when they are first put up then please consider pledging to my patreon page.

Rising from the ashes, how many times I lost count.

To restructure the tower of my soul as the shards spread throughout.

Piercing the skin that lies not far above.

But the pain grows fonder as one two halves become one.

A veritable corpse, a shambling husk.

Once again dragged by its limbs from the dust.

As its skin regrows and its blood recirculates.

The pain is immense as the old me regurgitates.

A heavy emotional wound leaves little time for rest.

I just quit life and now I’m starting again.
