Poem #18: Underneath My Skin

Note: The poem was originally posted on my Patreon account on July 27th of 2018. I am currently posting a new poem to my patreon account each day for patron exclusive reading and on this blog one week later for public viewing. If you’d like to see these poems when they are first put up then please consider pledging to my patreon page.

I feel it, I fear it, the needle underneath my skin.

It’s poking, its scraping, it’s clawing from within.

The seething, the writhing, the pain of dreadful sins.

The biting, and clawing, unjust to do me in.

The chewing, and hemorrhaging, my eyes go blind again.

I know it, I wrought it, this represents my end.

Today or, tomorrow, this wound that will not yet mend.

Over, and over, I scream and yet pretend.

Fisting, and slashing, I lose my mind again.

I see it, I know it, I can’t erase my sin.
