I’m Starting a Youtube Channel

Yep.

Not sure if I have much to say, other than the fact that I will be adapting select articles into video format, and will be posting them to this new channel, so you should all go ahead and subscribe to it. Specifically, this will be for my gaming content, and any other media critique and analysis. Considering that Youtube content will almost inevitably get more views than my writing, there is a strong chance that at some point, Youtube will be my main focus and that new content will be geared towards it. My reasons are specifically financial, and the fact that I would like for people to actually SEE the content I’ve been writing for over a decade.

I should also note that videos are not going to be direct copies of my blog posts. It’s a lot more complicated than just reading a review into a microphone, putting a trailer in the background, and uploading. The key issue is simply that a lot gags or jokes are suited more to writing than to speaking, and a lot of shit will need to be changed. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for some time, but I’ve always been daunted by the prospect of learning an entirely new skill set for a different medium, and starting from scratch.

That being said, it’s inevitable that I will need to make this switch if I’m to have any hope of success. In all honesty, I regret that I didn’t do this to begin with, because printed word is a dead medium unless you’re working for some large publication. Honestly, I think I did pretty well for myself, as someone with just a WordPress blog and no money, but I can only imagine how much larger my audience would be if I just went this direction from the beginning, especially since my of my inspiration was from Youtubers, and I never really paid much attention to other bloggers.

Anyway, please subscribe, and also donate to my Fanbox or Ko-Fi. My first video will be the Anticipated Games of 2025 one.
