Note: This poem was originally posted on my Patreon account on August 20th of 2018. I am currently posting a new poem to my patreon account each day for patron exclusive reading and on this blog one week later for public viewing. If you’d like to see these poems when they are first put up then please consider pledging to my patreon page.

Into the subconscious where the painful memories lie.

Alerting the denizens to my ever present predicament.

The written notation of the language of the heart translates to mere scribbles over ash.

But can the same not be said of all written words?

Drawn from the ashes to repeatedly get knocked back down.

Into the subconscious where the painful memories lie.

Turning and twisting, churning grief into strength.

A tragic mind can only look back, but I found the way forward.
