It has been a while hasn’t it? Well, here it is, the return of JRPG Update. As I have stated in my Update of JRPG Update, updates will new be split into two separate subseries focused on professional releases and indie titles respectively. They are also going to be monthly instead of weekly, as it was way too taxing to do so weekly and it got in the way of my regular content. Additionally, I am only embedding trailers that are in English now as to reduce the lag that greatly obstructs progress during editing. Anyway, starting the JRPG releases since last update, we have seen the release of Xenoblade Chronciles 2 (Switch), Tokyo Xanadu eX (PS4/PC), Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope – 4K & Full HD Remaster (PS4/PC), Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis (PS4/XBox One), Romancing SaGa 2 (PS4/Vita/Xbox One/Switch/PC), World of Final Fantasy (PC), Omega Quintet (PC), Elminage Original: Priestess of Darkness and The Ring of the Gods (PC), and Yodanji (Switch/PC)

Secret of Mana
13 minutes of gameplay revealed, and there will be a limited quantity physical edition of the PS4 version available at Gamestop and EB Games in North and South America. Square Enix CEO also mentions the possibility of more modernized re releases of classic titles. Maybe this means we may finally get Seiken Densetsu 3.

Metal Max Xeno
Information and screenshots for Metal Max Xeno, the upcoming fifth entry in the Metal Max series for the PS4 and Vita, as well as a 25th anniversary concert in Tokyo on December 28th. Some of you may be familiar with the third game in the series known as Metal Saga in the US on the PS2, as it was the only game in the series to receive a localization (though the SNES remake of the first Metal Max on the Famicom has been fan translated). Not to be confused with Mad Max or Mighty Max.

Fan translation patches have been released for Brandish 2 Renewal (PC98), Shiryou Sensen: War of the Dead (TG16), Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax – Chronicle Edition (PS2), Brigandine: Grand Edition (PS1), and Tengai Makyou Zero (SNES). Mods that change Link’s sprite in Zelda 2 and that inserts the GBA script into the SNES version of Final Fantasy V have also been released.
